It's almost as if something got written to BartPE CDs to prevent its seeing SATA drives, but I doubt that's possible.

no SATA drives seen on that PC by the new BartPE CD.

Thinking the CD might have been corrupt or something I made a new BartPE build which had the same results, i.e.

However, I then tried the BartPE CD with Discwizard that I had used for years and used it to create images on that other PC with onboard non SIL drivers just a couple of months ago, and it no longer sees SATA drives on the other PC it had worked for years with no problems. That latest BartPE CD sees all drives on the PC with the SI元114 SATA card but doesn't see SATA drives on another PC with non SIL drivers on the motherboard which seems plausible. Unforeseen problems with latest BartPE CD including Discwizard and some problems with seemingly no explanation. It seems I may be relegated to Ghost 2003 unless somebody on this forum may have the needed plugin or know where to find it online. However, pebuilder finds no CAB files in that folder.

I did find an old CD that came with a Seagate drive that has Discwizard on it which has a BartPE plugin selection during install and shows a BartPE subfolder in the Discwizard folder after install. Unfortunately I just got reply from Seagate support stating later Discwizard versions no longer have the BartPE plugin. Ghost 2003 using "Fast Compression" required 72 minutes to create image compared to 21 minutes for Discwizard, and resulting image sizes were 13GB and 12GB restectively. Just yesterday I created images of a 22GB WinXP drive using Ghost 2003 and Discwizard to test the speed difference. It's much faster than Ghost 2003 for creating and restoring images and uses slightly less space for images which is why I came to prefer it to Ghost 2003. If BartPE CD can't be made to recognize drives connected to the SATA card, I may have to revert to Ghost 2003 for imaging since it does recognize drives connected to the SATA card.ĭiscwizard is based on Acronis and is used to add new hard drives as well as create and restore backup images and clone drives. Does anybody know if there's a way to create a BartPE CD that will recognize drives connected to the PCI SATA card? Note to use Discwizard from boot CD I had to do it via BartPE because the boot CD that Discwizard creates fails to boot on that PC. I've had similar problems running Ghost 2003 from Windows and much prefer to run Ghost and Discwizard from boot CD. Programs on that same FAT32 drive would no longer run, and I reformatted and reinstalled programs. On reboot Windows scanned and found unrecoverable errors on that FAT32 drive, and the image file showd only 16kb size. Discwizard was unable to verify image after its creation, and it was unable to be deleted from WinXP. Today I had a problem running Seagate Discwizard from Windows which was done because BartPE can't see SATA drive connected to a PCI SATA card with SI元114 chipset.
